Newsletter February 2014

The Bradford Fire Department would like to remind everyone that burn permits are required whenever you are doing any open burning, even when there is snow on the ground. Permits are not required for outside cooking fires. If you have questions about needing a permit or not, contact Town Fire Warden Dusty Kelley at 576-0001, Deputy Warden Carlene Oakes at 327-2121 or Deputy Warden Keith Staples at 249-3008. You may also contact the Maine Forest Service at 827-1800. Burn permits can be obtained from any of the town wardens. You can also get a burn permit online at www.maineburnpermits.com for $7 with $2 of this fee being returned to the town.

We would also like to remind everyone that if you need a smoke detector or know of a family that does, please contact us for a free smoke detector.

With Bradford Days fast approaching, if you have any items that you would like to donate to the department for the auction, please contact any member.

If you would like to join the department or find out more about us, please stop by the FireHouse on a Tuesday evening or call Dusty Kelley, Fire Chief, at 576-0001.
